My group consists of Charlie Myers, Thomas Stevens, George Flack and me. After much deliberation and copious discussions and planning, we all came to the agreement that out film openings genre would be: Film Noir/ Thriller.
Film Noir: is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and motivations.
Our film opening will consist of:
1. A young woman is being followed
2. Use of vintage props such as vintage car, trench coat, gun, vintage make up as well as vintage billboards will bulletins of news and fur coat
3. Possible locations of filming include, Paddington Station as it has a romantic yet authentic 1920s feel with a large clock tower and average size platform, luxurious boudoir, vintage VW or RR car
4. Young woman has secret package
5. Man is looking for the woman- consequently follows her through station
6. Man is plotting murder against her
7. Use of low angled, wide, close and aerial shots
8. Authentic to early/mid 19th Century
9. Young woman is sultry and has 'vamp', glamorous style
10. Use of sound effects e.g clip clop of young
woman's heels on platform, suspense, clock ticking
11. Possible use of black and white or yellow toned filming - to create vintage, old feel
12. Musical prolapse between minimal lines
13. Authentic music to genre of film
Excellent work. Many of the FN codes and conventions clearly grasped.
