After completing our treatment of our film opening, we looked at different locations for our film opening. We decided as a group that we should change from using the inside of St Pancras Station to using the inside of Paddington Station. We chose this as the inside of St Pancras was less authentic to the time period of 1920s/40s with modern touches such as lights, beams and train directions. Paddington Station looks authentic to the period with use of a vintage tower clock and possible use of the interior of a champagne bar and refurbished Victorian hotel. The hotel looks rich with colour and vibrant carpeting as well as paintings. The use of the champagne bar and hotel still questionable as we may not get permission to film. The champagne bar may also be too modern, however completing further research will give us ideas!
As well as using the interior of Paddington Station, we chose to use the exterior of St Pancras. The deep red brick work as well as Victorian, vintage architecture contributes to the authenticity of the period we have chosen to convey. For example using close up shots and cut always will show vivid brick work and authentic features of the building that we may or may not have the chance to film inside of Paddington Station.
Good detailed location research.
