17.09.2013 - PLANNING:THE BRIEF

I am working in a group of 4 students. The other members of my groups are George Flack, Charlie Myers and Thomas Stevens. We have chosen Brief 7 (video). The opening sequence from a new film including titles, in any genre or mix of genres such as a comedy or thriller together with a storyboard. Maximum length: three minutes.

Research: Spooks (BBC 2002)

1.       Television Drama – Genre: Spy
2.       Had build-up of “previously” last week’s episode followed by opening credits

3.       In the film opening, a spy rings one of his colleagues to tell him to check his bed side table, he consequently finds a large brown envelope – this meant the intelligence secret was out!

4.       The head of MI5 called Harry realises that he is in terrible danger being consequently taken and presumably killed by hijackers that broke in through his window. The imposters held him at gun-point. He listens to classical, Russian music; this was the last song he listened to before his death

5.       Regular titles of actors and actresses appear at the beginning; the opening credits move at a fast, urgent pace of MI5. It has split screens that appear busy and simultaneously happening; they move at not regular, normal pace.

6.       The graphics of the opening look very computer like – computer code, use of brackets and upper case letters.

7.      Genre of the television programme is connected to genre of film
